1-on-1 intervention

  • Any students who are struggling with foundational reading skills, such as phonological awareness, phonics, and fluency. This can include students with diagnoses such as dyslexia, ADHD, phonological processing disorder, or any other learning difference.

    However, many students who have reading difficulties do not have a diagnosis. We serve all students who demonstrate need for foundational reading instruction.

  • Each session is 50-minutes long with student and their consistent teacher. These sessions utilize our blended SJRR Curriculum comprised of LiPS, OG, and numerous supplemental materials created by our founders with master’s degrees in Reading Disabilities.

    Each session is followed by an in-person 5-minute debrief to keep you informed of your child’s progress. You will also be equipped with resources such as books, videos, games, and other at-home practice activities to reinforce learned skills between sessions.

  • All sessions are held at our St. Johns Reading Room center, located at 136 Roberts Village Ct Unit 1201, Fruit Cove, FL 32259. Each child has a classroom all to themselves, designed to support student learning in a focused, calm, loving environment.

    Students spend approximately 50% of each session on the carpet engaged in active learning and 50% of the session at the desk for focused reading and writing activities.

  • Students are required to attend a minimum of two sessions per week. This is designed to ensure continued consistent progress through the curriculum. Discounted rates are given for students who attend three sessions per week.

    Session times are offered Monday through Friday at 1 PM, 2:30 PM, 3:30 PM, 4:30 PM, 5:30 PM, and 6:30 PM. Once your child is enrolled, he or she has a consistent time slot reserved for them each week. Call to find out current availability.

  • Students with deficits in foundational reading skills do not simply “grow out of it.” Research shows that 88% of students who are poor readers at the end of 1st grade remain poor readers at the end of 4th grade. Similar studies show that these gaps remain through high school. School alone does not eliminate reading gaps. Early intervention is the key to changing the trajectory of students’ education.

    Our 1-on-1 intervention program targets students’ deficits and builds strong readers from the foundation through grade level expectations.

homeschool reading co-op

  • Co-op is designed for homeschool students who are looking for a trained educator to deliver high-quality reading instruction this school year.

    Each group only has 4 students to ensure that each child receives individualized care.

    K-1st Graders: Build a strong reading and spelling foundation.

    2nd-3rd Graders: Help struggling readers address the root cause of difficulties and build to grade level expectations.

  • The SJRR Co-op will cover your full reading block for the 2026 - 2027 school year.

    Phonological awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension will all be taught in the curriculum. Students receive our 1-on-1 intervention program for a significantly cheaper group rate.

  • Our reading Co-op meets in the beautiful St. Johns Reading Room center, a warm and welcoming learning environment thoughtfully designed to help children thrive. Unlike a traditional classroom, our light-filled space feels comfortable, calm, and inspiring, encouraging students to build confidence while developing strong reading skills.

    Students enjoy working in a small-group setting surrounded by books, engaging learning materials, and cozy reading spaces that support focus and connection. Every detail of our office has been intentionally created to provide a positive, encouraging atmosphere. The co-op is hosted in our largest classroom, perfect for a group of four.

  • All groups meet for two hours twice each week.

    Mondays/Wednesdays: 8-10 AM OR 10:15 AM-12:15 PM

    Tuesdays/Thursdays: 8-10 AM OR 10:15 AM-12:15 PM

    Ability grouping is used to determine which day and time slot is best for your child.

  • Many families seek homeschool options to allow for freedom in their decision making for their child. However, not all homeschool parents are trained educators that are prepared for the rigor of teaching their child how to read.

    Which curriculum, instructional methods, scope and sequence, books, activities, games, and resources do you utilize to help your child succeed? These questions can be incredibly difficult to answer. And for students with reading difficulties or disabilities the challenges can be overwhelming.

    Instead, SJRR Homeschool Reading Co-op will answer all of those questions for you. Allow our highly trained and qualified co-op teacher to take over your child’s reading block. We will provide all of these things and more. Your job as a homeschool parent is to come alongside us, utilize the prescribed resources for at-home practice between sessions, and see your child flourish in reading!
